ACCESS MEDIQUIP NAMES NEW CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

Dr. Steven L. Arnold Joins Access MediQuip from Virginia Premier Health Plan and Healthcare Global Advisors.

LAKE MARY, FL, January 17, 2012 – Access MediQuip, (AMQ) the nation's first and largest provider of comprehensive surgical implant management solutions, today announced the appointment of Steven L. Arnold, MD, MS, MBA, CPE, FHIMSS as Chief Medical Officer. He will be responsible for clinical programs, partnering with payer medical staff, the development of medical management policies and procedures, quality and safety initiatives and product development.

Dr. Arnold most recently served as the CMO for Virginia Premier Health Plan (VPHP) where he focused on improving net revenues, creating clinical programs, reducing their Medical Loss Ratios, and driving quality improvements. At VPHP, he also had oversight of the Utilization Management, Quality Management, Disease and Case Management functions leading a staff of more than 100 employees. He serves on the boards of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), NY State Senate Committee for Preventative Healthcare Grants, Urgent Care Medicine, Formulary Magazine, and the NYC Police Reserve Association. Dr. Arnold has written numerous white papers and has been recognized for his leadership in healthcare. Dr. Arnold was a Lt. Colonel, Medical Officer in the US Air Force and earned his medical degree at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine and also practiced medicine for 20 years in California and Virginia.
