NEW E-JOURNAL ADDRESSES IMPLANTED DEVICE CHALLENGES

HOUSTON, TX -- “Payers, facilities and healthcare professionals need objective advice in dealing with the challenges that implanted devices pose, when it comes to utilization, outcomes and costs,” said Tim Hargarten, CEO of Access MediQuip, Inc., in announcing the launch of Implant Management Digest, a new bi-monthly electronic journal.

The premier issue of the free, opt-in e-newsletter hits “desktop newsstands” August 11, Hargarten said. Implant Management Digest aims to deliver relevant, on-point information that helps readers cope with explosive growth in the marketplace, and the challenges that result from that growth. “There are serious issues related to coverage, billings, reimbursements and collections,” he said. “We aim to help readers address them, especially the financial risks.”

“We want to inform, educate and excite readers about the potential of implanted device technology,” Hargarten said. “Everyone involved in the process wants the right technology in the right patient — at the right price. But there’s a delicate balancing act involved, when multiple constituencies are involved, each with their own objectives. ”

The newsletter will address common Payer and facility challenges including cost-effective management of implanted device therapies using “best practices” that carve out and control the overall device spend. “The costs are often buried, inconsistent and unpredictable,” said John Hamrick, EVP at MediQuip and the newsletter’s editor.

Implant Management Digest also aims to help readers more effectively communicate with, and serve, internal customers. It will help readers become more effective leaders and managers. And, Implant Management Digest will include links to helpful events and organizations, interviews with subject matter experts and frontline expertise from others who confront implanted device management challenges.
